More Than All The Miles Combined

Two estranged friends. One final wish. A road trip to rediscover what they lost.

More Than All the Miles Combined is a 110,000-word contemporary sapphic romance that will appeal to readers of Emily Henry, Ashley Herring Blake, and Carley Fortune. This is a story of girlhood and growing up, second chances, and the people and places that never really leave us, no matter how far we go.

The Story

Their best friend Sophie’s funeral is certainly not where Emery Klein or Sloan Bennett expected to reunite after their last night together at camp six years ago. But when they’re handed a letter Sophie leaves behind, they’re thrown back into each other’s lives by her final wish.

Despite the fact that Emery is the girl she’s never been able to move on from, Sloan agrees to honour Sophie’s final wish and embark on a road trip from Toronto to Cape Spear, the easternmost point of Canada, where the sunrise first touches the continent. She hopes that along the way, they can find their way back to where they once were. But she isn’t sure if even thirty-six hours confined to a car together can do that.

Emery, on the other hand, takes this as a sign from the universe. She moves out of her high-rise condo, breaks up with her picture-perfect boyfriend, and quits her unfulfilling job. She’s ready to explore everything she’s been hiding from, including her feelings for Sloan. But of course, she isn’t going to tell her. At least not yet. Or maybe ever. She’s not sure if Sloan will ever forgive her for what happened that night.

Following the road trip itinerary from their childhood, Emery and Sloan embark on a journey across eastern Canada. Each stop reminds them of the girls they used to be, forcing them to confront their past, their grief, and the feelings they’ve never truly let go of. But as they reach the end of the road, they must decide if this journey was ever about letting go, or if it was always about finding their way back to one another.
