THE STORY
Marley Hayes has spent her life skating on thin ice. Growing up in a small town in Northern Ontario, Marley’s life has always revolved around hockey. Fighting her way onto boys’ teams and earning a full-ride scholarship, it’s always been her escape, and the only thing that’s ever truly been hers. But now, as the once-star forward of her university team, Marley’s struggling. Her grades are slipping, and with them, her ice time. And if she wants a shot at the pro draft, she can’t afford to be benched.
Élodie Leblanc has always had it all. As the daughter of an NHL legend, she grew up with a famous last name and the kind of privilege Marley could only dream about. To everyone else, Élodie’s life looks effortless. So when she transfers to Marley’s team just in time for her final season, it feels like yet another thing handed to her on a silver platter.
